Tempe, Arizona
In 2004, Real Companies Co-Founder, Scott Johnson was involved in the initial pre-lease of the District portion of Tempe Marketplace with Vestar for the amazing location at the intersection of the 101 and the 202 Freeways in Tempe, Arizona. The site is just a few miles away from one of the largest universities in the country, Arizona State University. At the time, the site was a landfill and the developer had to import one of the largest cranes in the world from Scandinavia to work around the clock. Harkins Theatres made a commitment to the project, which allowed for junior tenants to follow for the family friendly mixed use center. Years later, Real Companies Co-Founder, Chris “Oz” Osborn got involved and provided additional excellence with all things leasing. The overall leasing process was a true success and Tempe Marketplace continues to be the dominant shopping and entertainment center in the area.
